Energy generators based on the PolyPower DEAP technology

Imagine large wave energy harvesting plants efficiently converting free wave energy to CO2 free electrical energy! A visionary dream that will come through with the PolyPower DEAP technology.

A very interesting and emerging application for the PolyPower technology is energy harvesting; or more generically, generators that transform mechanical energy to electrical energy.

Although DEAP based energy harvesting is a relative new and emerging research area, it holds great promises for the future. Ideally DEAP generators will enable service free, high efficient direct transformation of linear mechanical movements to electrical energy.

Direct acting and with very high energy density, the DEAP generators have the potential to become a truly disruptive technology within this field. In the future we foresee that DEAP generators will harvest energy from wind, wave, vibrations and more.

The InLastor generators based on the PolyPower technology work on the principle of a large variable capacitor. By squeezing and/or stretching the PolyPower material the capacitance will change which will enable conversion of mechanical to electrical energy.

Energy harvesting is a major research area for Danfoss PolyPower A/S with focus on a few selected projects. You are welcome to contact us to learn more about recent developments and activities
