Smart elements for application in innovative designs

With the InLastor smart elements – actuators, sensors and energy converters – based on the PolyPower DEAP film open up for development of ultra-competitive products across a wide range of industries.

Energy harvesting

The InLastor elements are unique with their capabilities for high strain and significant change in capacitance, and offer unique properties for energy harvesting. Both for large scale grid mounted systems and for local point of use, the technology promises effective compact devices capable of harvesting excess energy from movements and vibrations.
 

Adaptive airfoils

The ability to intelligently change the profile of a wing or sail to optimise performance under dynamic air flow conditions has long been an unrealised desire. Using InLastor actuators, it is now possible to create such an adaptive airfoil on a commercially viable basis. The actuators are embedded into the airfoil structure, fitting snugly over the surface. Valves and pumps

Compact hermetically-sealed proportional valves achieve low energy consumption, heat-free and silent operation with the new InLastor actuators. The unique controllability of the actuators opens up for novel solutions in dosing and metering pumps, for both industrial and medical applications. Read more about infusion pump concept.
 

Remedial products

Compliant actuators and sensors that can be shaped around the organic forms of the human body can be realised using the flexible PolyPower film. Innovative products for rehabilitation or monitoring are therefore ripe to be developed; for instance active compression bandages, blood pressure monitoring devices, breathing detection systems and measuring devices for strain, force and pressure.
